Commercial Ropes are made from long, stringy, fibrous material, but are typically made from certain natural or synthetic fibers. These are substantially stronger than ropes manufactured from natural fibers, and they can be made to float in water. They also have a higher tensile strength than ropes made from natural fibers. In addition to keeping a rope together, the twist of the strands in a twisted or braided rope allows Commercial Ropes to more uniformly transfer tension among the individual strands.
